A long history of professional friendships

May 22, 2013

Hollywood Private Hospital has seen only three Chief Executive Officers (CEO) since 1994 when Ramsay Health Care became the owner-operator. Wednesday 15 May 2013 marked a rare occasion when the three CEOs from the last nineteen years reunited at the hospital.

Newly-appointed CEO Peter Mott had invited his predecessor Kevin Cass-Ryall, now Regional Manager for WA, SA and Indonesia, and Roger Snell, the first CEO at Hollywood under Ramsay Health Care ownership, to visit the hospital. Roger enjoyed catching up with staff including several he worked with back in the days he was at Hollywood.

"It was great to see Roger again after all these years," said Kevin who was interviewed and appointed by Roger to the role of Director of Finance and Corporate Services in December 1994. Kevin was then appointed to the CEO role in 1998. "I am also delighted with the appointment of Peter as CEO in April this year. I can now focus on my Regional Operational role incorporating WA, SA as well as Indonesia and more recently Malaysia."

Roger previously visited Perth in 2009 having travelled from NSW for the opening of the hospital's Marjorie Brislee Wing. He was excited to see the future expansion plans for Hollywood's operating theatres, wards, catering facilities and car park bays.

The $63.3 million project recently announced by Ramsay Health Care includes six new state-of-the-art operating suites, a new kitchen, two new wards, another level on the hospital's multi-storey car park with an additional 184 car bays and additional supply facilities within the Operating theatre complex. The expansion demonstrates the company's commitment to Hollywood Private Hospital and the Western Australian health system.

"The need to expand our facilities only reinforces the strength of Hollywood Private Hospital's reputation in offering the highest quality in care, accommodation and medical facilities Western Australia has to offer," said Peter.

Ramsay Health Care has invested over $200 million at the hospital since purchasing it in February 1994.

The expansion project is anticipated to commence late 2013, pending approval by the relevant authorities.
