Hollywood Private Hospital renews partnership with North Cottesloe SLSC
Aug 01, 2012
Hollywood Private Hospital has reinforced its commitment to the ‘paramedics of the sea’ by extending its sponsorship with the North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club (NCSLSC) for a further three years.
Since the partnership began in 2009, Hollywood’s sponsorship has supported education and training programs for club members and the local community. Initiatives have included working with local schools and teaching life saving skills.
NCSLSC General Manager Yolande Joubert says the partnership has given the Club a fantastic opportunity to create relationships with the community and expose people to the importance of surf lifesaving.
“Over the past three years, we have been engaging young people by providing primary and secondary students skills for life from teaching them surf lifesaving.”
“The renewed partnership will allow us to broaden our education program and enable more members to develop their lifesaving skills to be utlised not only on the beach, but also throughout the general community.”
Executive Director of Hollywood Private Hospital, Kevin Cass-Ryall, said the hospital is thrilled to team up again with North Cottesloe SLSC.
“We are extremely excited about partnering with this iconic club again as we see great synergies between the two organisations. We are both in the business of saving lives. Western Australian's love their beaches and when summer comes a constant stream of swimmers head to the coast, often placing considerable pressure on these services. We believe it's important to support this service and the extraordinary volunteers who dedicate their time.”
While the Club is committed to ensuring North Cottesloe remains one of the safest beaches in Western Australia, there is more to the club than surf life saving.
The Club has over 2200 members who take part in a wide range of activities including beach patrols, surf sports, junior activities, education and training, as well as social activities.
“We look forward to continuing this great relationship with NCSLSC and will support a variety of their activities throughout the year,” said Mr Cass-Ryall.
Hollywood Private Hospital is a modern, 659 bed, state-of-the-art acute care hospital in Nedlands. The hospital is a part of Ramsay Health Care Group – Australia’s largest private hospital operator.
Established in 1918, the North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club has grown from a small group of 35 members to more than 2200 today – making it one of the largest surf lifesaving clubs in Australia. The primary focus of the Club is to provide a professional lifesaving service to the public and to train members and the community in lifesaving skills.
