Country Patients 

Country patients may be eligible for travel and accommodation assistance via the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS). Usually, you need to apply to PATS prior to travel. Please discuss your eligibility with your GP, medical specialist or local hospital PATS officer.

Patients who are staying in Perth for cancer treatment are advised to discuss additional accommodation options with their local hospital PATS office. Those who are staying in Perth for treatment for leukaemia or another blood-related cancer can contact the Leukaemia Foundation directly on 1800 620 420 for advice on additional accommodation options.

Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Patients 

DVA patients may be eligible for travel and accommodation assistance from DVA. Patients who require an escort to travel with them for medical reasons must apply to PATS for their escort’s accommodation costs. Phone DVA on 1800 555 254 for further information.
