General Medicine at Hollywood
Hollywood Private Hospital recognises that periodically patients will have an acute illness and require hospital admission. Although the hospital does not have an emergency department, we can accept admission of acutely unwell patients directly upon referral from a general practitioner (GP).
A patient’s GP is able to contact the hospital and speak to Hollywood’s on call physician when they have a patient who they think may need admission to hospital.
Alternatively patients in emergency departments may request to be transferred to Hollywood.
Hollywood’s Assessment Centre is staffed by acute care nurses and is where patients will be initially assessed before being moved to their ward where they can be settled for treatment and recovery.
The Acute Admissions Service hotline can be contacted on 9346 6606.
