Visitor Information
Due to COVID restrictions there will be two types of visitors: ‘essential visitors’ and ‘other visitors’.
Essential visitors
An ‘essential visitor’ may visit outside of visiting hours and includes:
- nominated parent, guardian or carer of either a child OR a person with a disability
- support person for someone who is critically ill/end-of-life
Only Essential visitors are permitted in the Emergency Department and Day Surgery Units (DSU).
Other visitors
Patients other than those who need an essential visitor may now have a maximum two (2) visitors per patient each day for a period of 2 hours.
Visiting hours are as follows:
Hospital Wards – 3pm- 7pm daily
The Ramsay Clinic Hollywood (mental health wards) 4.30pm -6.30pm daily.
Rules for visitors
All visitors are required to:
- Show proof of vaccination (unvaccinated essential visitors may be given an exemption in certain situations)
- Undergo screening
- Wear a surgical mask for the entirety of their stay
- Note that children under 12 years of age are not permitted in the hospital
All visitors are required to undertake a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) prior to arriving at the hospital and prior to every visit. Visitors must provide evidence of the test result on arrival.
Visitors are not permitted if they have either tested positive to COVID or been a close contact in the last 14 days.
