This is a private emergency department, so please be aware that fees are incurred when attending.

A standard fee of $300 for a doctor’s consultation is applied. This fee is non-refundable and not covered by Medicare or your private health fund. EFTPOS and credit card are the accepted payment methods.

After consultation, you may require further services or items, such as radiology, pathology, walking aids or the like. Again, please be aware that these services may attract additional fees.

SKG Radiology is the imaging service attached to the Hollywood Private Hospital Emergency Department. Their fees are capped at $275 for any referred services.

In the event that our emergency department cannot admit you into Hollywood Private Hospital, or specialist treatment is required, you may need to be transferred by ambulance to another hospital. The ambulance service will charge for this transfer. Your private health insurance may cover it, but such transfers are not claimable on Medicare, a Health Care Card, or a Pharmaceutical or Pensioner Benefits Card.

Important things to note

• Department of Veterans’ Affairs will cover the emergency department fees if you are a Gold Card holder. White Card holders are encouraged to make their own enquiries.
• Overseas visitors, or anyone not covered by Medicare, will be responsible for all charges, including a $450 Doctor Consultation Fee.
