A $6,000 donation by Hollywood Private Hospital means students from Hollywood Primary School will benefit from an extended swimming season

Hollywood Private Hospital has donated $6,000 towards the cost of having a new swimming pool blanket installed at Hollywood Primary School.

Hollywood Primary School acting principal Beverly Innes said the new blanket will retain water warmth which means the student’s swimming season will be extended.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Hollywood Private Hospital. Not only will the new pool blanket see the students’ swimming season extended but pool water will be conserved more effectively and it will act as a deterrent for ducks entering the pool,” said Ms Innes.

The new pool blanket is the first priority of the overall upgrade of the pool’s facilities which will see improvements made to shade, change rooms, seating and the installation of solar heating – a project being spearheading by Hollywood Primary School’s P&C committee.

Hollywood Private Hospital Executive Director Kevin-Cass Ryall said that contributing to the community is a core value of the hospital.

“Hollywood Private Hospital is proud to have a long standing relationship with our primary school neighbour and we offer support where possible. We are happy to contribute to the cost of the pool blanket which will benefit the students of Hollywood Primary School,” said Kevin Cass-Ryall.

An official ‘Pool Blanket Unveiling Ceremony’ will take place at Hollywood Primary School at 3pm on Tuesday 31st January 2012. School staff, P&C representatives and students will be in attendance along with representatives from Hollywood Private Hospital.
