City of Nedlands Mayor and CEO visit Hollywood’s emergency department

Aug 16, 2021

City of Nedlands Mayor Fiona Argyle and Chief Executive Officer Bill Parker visited Hollywood Private Hospital’s emergency department (ED), which is due to open later this year.

Hollywood CEO Peter Mott said he was proud to provide a tour for the council leaders.

The $67 million ED project features six levels and three new wards. It will expand the hospital’s capacity to over 900 licensed beds - reinforcing Hollywood’s position as the largest hospital in the State.

“Our new ED will be an important service for the local community, providing residents with the option to access timely private emergency care close to home,” Mr Mott said.

Mayor Argyle said she was pleased to have the State’s largest hospital within the City of Nedlands’ bounds.

“I’m so excited to have the Hollywood Private Hospital in our City – it is an enormous asset not only for local residents but for the whole State,” Ms Argyle said.

Bill Parker, the City of Nedlands CEO, said Hollywood Private Hospital has played a special role in Western Australian medical history for many years.

“The latest expansions to services and capacity will ensure Hollywood Private Hospital continues to play a vital role in meeting the State’s medical needs,” Mr Parker said.
