Hollywood Private Hospital nurse is going bald for a cause
Aug 25, 2021
Hollywood Private Hospital registered nurse Michael Dolin is having his long locks lopped on October 30 to help beat blood cancer.
Mr Dolin is taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave and with the help of friends and family has raised more than $1400 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
“My stretch goal is $10,000 – if I get there I will shave my beard,” Mr Dolin said.
Mr Dolin worked in oncology and haematology initially as a patient support assistant, before studying to become a registered nurse.
“I have developed quite a passion for cancer nursing and research,” Mr Dolin said.
By taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave, Mr Dolin felt it was one more way he could support those affected by blood cancer.
Money raised through World’s Greatest Shave helps fund support services for families facing blood cancer. It also helps with vital research to help more people survive blood cancers and improve their
quality of life.
