What is Cancer?

Prostate

In Australia, prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men and the risk of developing it increases with age. Like all other cancers, it is caused by excessive cell division. This particular cancer affects the prostate, a gland only found in men, located near the bladder.

In the past few decades there have been many advances in prostate cancer management and treatment. Common treatments include radical prostatectomy, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment. All of these prostate cancer services are provided at Hollywood Private Hospital.
