Clinical Practice

Dr Wen-Loong Yeow treats patients for the management of ischemic and valvular heart disease, adult cardiac defects, and the prevention of cardioembolic stroke. Common procedures include coronary angioplasty and stenting. Dr Yeow’s main focus include coronary interventions via the radial approach and use of fractional flow reserve for patients with acute coronary syndrome and cardiac risks for non-cardiac surgery. He has expertise in adult structural heart intervention encompassing transcatheter interventions for valvular heart disease, adult congenital and acquired heart defects, and the prevention of cardioembolic stroke. Specifically, these procedures include transcatheter valvuloplasty and repair and ASD, VSD, PDA, LAA and perivalvular leak closure. Dr Yeow also has experience with implantable hemodynamic sensors and new left atrial and left ventricular assist devices for advanced treatment for heart failure, and the use of three-dimensional echocardiography and intracardiac echocardiography.

 

Background & Training

Wen-Loong (or Wen) graduated from the University of Western Australia, he completed his cardiology training and two-year coronary interventional fellowship at Royal Perth Hospital in 2011. He then completed a two-year fellowship in adult structural and valvular interventions, with clinical and basic science research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in Los Angeles. His research has been published in peer reviewed journals. In addition to interventional cardiology, he provides general cardiology support to the practice.
