Dr Francis Chai practices in all aspect of Otolaryngology - head and neck surgery in both adults and children, with a interest in head and neck tumor surgery (including thyroids), sinus diseases and voice disorders. Francis has been in private practice since 2002 and has interest in the full spectrum of general paediatric and adult conditions. He has a interest in tumours of the parotid, having performed 650 + cases. Francis operates out of Hollywood Private Hospital. He is also a sessional consultant surgeon at Royal Perth Hospital.
Background & Training
Francis Chai graduated from medical school at the University of WA in 1992. He qualified as a surgeon with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in the field of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery in 1999. Francis undertook further surgical training at the New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, USA from 2000-2001. The Department covers NYU Tisch Hospital, Bellevue public Hospital and the Veteran's Affairs Hospital. He was awarded first prize for his presentation from the New York Head and Neck Society.
