Clinical Practice
Dr Daniel Cheng is a Specialist Gastroenterologist who is dedicated to delivering holistic and patient focused care in general gastroenterology, therapeutic endoscopy and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He has a focus in therapeutic endoscopy, pancreaticobiliary disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. His area of endoscopic expertise include ERCP, EUS, surveillance and management of Barrett’s oesophagus, endoscopic management of large polyps, benign oesophageal stricture dilation and high quality surveillance colonoscopy for the prevention of colorectal cancer.
Dr Daniel Cheng has public appointments at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Osborne Park Hospital. He is a clinical lecturer of medicine at the University of Western Australia.
He is multi-lingual and speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and Malay.
Away from medicine he enjoys hiking, playing guitar, reading and badminton.
Background
Dr Daniel Cheng completed his Medical degree at the University of Queensland. He completed his gastroenterology training in Brisbane including a fellowship year in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the Mater Hospital Brisbane. He subsequently moved to Perth to pursue his passion in therapeutic endoscopy. He completed subspecialty training in Interventional Endoscopy at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital/St Paul’s Hospital (Vancouver, Canada).
