Dr. Angel Li is a dedicated Specialist Gastroenterologist who is deeply passionate about promoting gut health and delivering comprehensive care to her patients. She focuses on general and luminal gastroenterology and on conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, functional gastrointestinal disorders, coeliac disease, eosinophilic oesophagitis, and nutrition.
With a strong commitment to excellence Angel provides gastroscopy and colonoscopy services and has expertise in dye-spray chromoendoscopy and bowel cancer screening. In addition to English, she is fluent in Chinese Mandarin, ensuring effective communication with a diverse patient population.
Dr Li holds a private appointment at Hollywood Private Hospital and public appointment at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, both located in Perth.
Background & training
Dr Li’s clinical journey began in Perth, where she completed her physician training. To further enhance her expertise, she pursued two clinical Fellowships in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Her postgraduate GI training was completed at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital.
Subsequently, she pursued a fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital further expanding her knowledge and skills in the field of gastroenterology. During this time, she gained invaluable experience in managing complex inflammatory bowel disease cases, caring for pregnant patients with inflammatory bowel disease, and supporting adolescent patients transitioning from paediatric care. Driven by her fascination with gut microbiota, Angel actively participates in research on faecal microbiota transplantation for the treatment of clostridium difficile colitis.
