Dr. Travis Falconer is a distinguished Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon with a primary focus on shoulder and elbow surgery. Since 2019, Dr. Falconer has served as an Intern Educator and Teacher in the Musculoskeletal Program at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, contributing to the training and education of aspiring medical professionals.

Dr. Travis Falconer possesses a wealth of experience and has completed comprehensive training in orthopaedic surgery exemplified by the following milestones. He undertook an intensive 12-month Shoulder and Elbow fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and collaborated with the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute, focusing on advanced techniques in shoulder and elbow surgery. He also completed fellowships with internationally recognized shoulder and elbow surgeons at prestigious institutions, including Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and The Shriners Hospital for Children in Portland, Oregon.
As a dedicated researcher, Dr. Falconer co-founded the Perth Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Research Institute, where he assumed the role of lead author, publishing an original research paper on infections in primary shoulder arthroplasty. Additionally, he authored a book chapter on arthroplasty options for the elbow in trauma settings.
Dr. Falconer's contributions to the field have been acknowledged through various awards, including the Sonnabend Award for the best research paper at the Biannual Shoulder & Elbow Society of Australia Scientific Meeting in 2016. Notably, he received The Jon Venerys Award for Registrar of the Year at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in 2013 and Fremantle Hospital Training Registrar of the Year in 2012. He was also the recipient of the Manners-Hill Research Prize in 2012 for the best registrar presentation at the Western Australian Orthopaedic Association Annual Scientific Meeting.
Dr. Falconer extends his expertise as a Surgical Instructor for Advanced Shoulder Arthroscopy for the Asia-Pacific Region with Arthrex International since 2018. Furthermore, he actively contributes as a Medical Student Mentor in the Personal & Professional Development Program at the University of Western Australia since 2016.
