Dr Martin is a Consultant Pain and Rehabilitation Physician focused on pain management, particularly in areas such as spasticity treatment, spinal cord injury, brain injury, neurological conditions, and amputation pain, including phantom limb pain. After completing a Fellowship in Pain Medicine with the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, he honed his skills in advanced, minimally invasive procedural pain management. Dr Martin is passionate about integrating these procedural techniques with rehabilitation strategies to maximise patient recovery.
Dr Martin holds public appointments at various hospital in Perth including Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Osborne Park Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital Rehabilitation Service. In the private sector, Dr Martin extends his expertise through consultations and procedural interventions at Hollywood Private Hospital.
Background and Training
Originally from Sydney, Dr Martin’s early interest in sports and personal experiences with injuries steered him towards a career in pain and rehabilitation medicine. He was awarded scholarships to prestigious institutions such as Newington College and Western Sydney University, culminating in a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. His foundational medical training took place at Royal Perth Hospital, followed by Advanced Training in Rehabilitation Medicine with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians at the State Rehabilitation Service.
