Dr. Goodwin is a Specialist Urological Surgeon who is currently practicing at Hollywood Private Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and Osborne Park Hospital. Referrals are invited for a range of urological concerns and his expertise encompasses the diagnosis and management of urological cancer, with proficiency in laparoscopic, surgical, and pelvic oncology surgery. Dr Goodwin is a Specialist Urological Surgeon who offers comprehensive urological care with particular interests in urological surgical oncology, multidisciplinary cancer management, urinary stone surgery, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Dr Goodwin brings broad experience and technical expertise to the assessment and management of urological conditions, including elevated PSA, haematuria, voiding symptoms, urinary tract stones, kidney abnormalities, and other common urological presentations. Dr Goodwin values clear, open communication with both patients and their GPs and is committed to delivering high-quality urological care in a warm and approachable environment. Dr Goodwin works privately at Hollywood Private Hospital, and publically at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Osborne Park Hospital and also provides specialist outreach services to Kalgoorlie Health Campus.

 

Background and Training

Dr Goodwin undertook his medical training in the United Kingdom, qualifying with an MB BChir in 1990. He entered specialist urology training in 1995, holding positions at leading institutions including The London Institute of Urology, St George Hospital, Queen Square London, The Institute of Urology (London), and The Royal Marsden Hospital. He was awarded the FRCS (Urology) in 2001 and completed a research-based Master of Science in Urology (MSc) in 1997. Following completion of specialist training, Dr Goodwin undertook fellowship appointments at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital from 2002 to 2004. Dr Goodwin emigrated to Australia in 2011 and was awarded FRACS in 2014, along with Australian citizenship and full practising rights. 

 

Research and Teaching

Dr. Goodwin has a strong background in research, having completed a Masters degree (MSc Urology) in 1997. His research interests and contributions have been integral to his practice, particularly in the areas of urological cancer surgery, stone surgery, and BPH. He is also involved in teaching, sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with the next generation of urologists.
